How SmartScope adds to an estimate #
SmartScope calculators don’t save results passively โ they push results to your estimate when you tap the Apply button inside the tool. Each SmartScope sheet has its own Apply button (for example, “Apply Pricing,” “Apply Crew,” “Apply VOD & Delivery”). Until you tap Apply, the results stay in the calculator and nothing is added to the estimate.
You filled in the calculator but nothing appeared in the estimate #
- Did you tap Apply? This is the most common cause. Scroll to the bottom of the SmartScope sheet and look for the Apply button. If the sheet has multiple tabs (like Livestream SmartScope with Event Setup โ Crew โ Platform & Tech โ VOD & Delivery), each tab has its own Apply button โ work through each tab and tap Apply before moving to the next
- Did you open SmartScope from inside a job? SmartScope tools must be opened while you’re in the estimate builder for a specific job. If you opened a standalone calculator from the home screen, there’s no estimate context to push results to. Open the job, enter the estimate builder, then open SmartScope from the toolbar
- Did the sheet dismiss without applying? Swiping down to dismiss a SmartScope sheet discards any unapplied work. Tools that auto-save state (like Livestream SmartScope) preserve your inputs, but you still need to tap Apply to push results to the estimate
Applied but the line items look wrong or are missing #
- Check the correct section of the estimate. SmartScope results go into specific sections โ material rows to the Materials section, labor rows to Labor, service rows to Services. If you’re looking in the wrong section, the items may already be there
- Rows may be toggled off. Some SmartScope tools let you enable or disable individual rows before applying. If a row was toggled off, it won’t appear in the estimate even after Apply. Reopen the SmartScope tool and confirm which rows are enabled
- Zero-value rows may be hidden. Rows with a $0 value may be filtered from the estimate view. Enter amounts in the SmartScope calculator before applying
Applied twice and now there are duplicates #
Tapping Apply more than once pushes the rows again, creating duplicates in the estimate. To fix this, open the estimate builder and delete the duplicate rows manually. Going forward, apply once and verify the estimate before reopening the SmartScope tool.
The SmartScope tool doesn’t open #
- SmartScope tools are accessed from the toolbar inside the estimate builder. If you don’t see the SmartScope button, confirm you’re inside a job’s estimate โ not on the job summary screen
- Some SmartScope tools are specific to a job type (for example, Livestream SmartScope only appears on Video Production jobs). Confirm the job type matches the tool you’re trying to use
