The Retainer Builder prices marketing retainers role by role — setting monthly hours and rates for each position on the account. Built retainers can be saved as presets for quick reuse on future engagements.

From inside a Marketing estimate, tap the Retainer strip button in the SmartScope toolbar.
Build the retainer #
In Select roles and set monthly hours, toggle on each role included in the retainer and enter their monthly hours and rate. Available roles: Account Manager, Brand Strategist, Marketing Director, Project Manager, SEO Specialist, Content Strategist, Analyst, and Custom. The monthly total updates live as you adjust hours and rates across roles.
Load a saved preset #
If you have saved retainer presets from previous engagements, they appear in the Saved Presets section. Each preset shows the billing mode and contract length. Tap a preset to load its role structure and rates into the current retainer — then adjust as needed for this client.
Save as preset #
In Save Preset, set the billing mode — Retainer or Project — and the contract length in months, then tap Save as Preset. You’ll be prompted to name the preset. Billing mode and contract length are stored with the preset so the right context loads when you reuse it.
Apply to the estimate #
Tap Apply. All enabled roles insert as line items in the estimate’s retainer section, each with their own monthly hours and rate.
