Who this is for: Managers | Plan: Premium | Series: Client Mode โ Part 1 of 3
๐ Client Mode Series
- Part 1: Present Your Estimate in Client Mode โ You are here
- Part 2: Collect a Signature and Take a Deposit
- Part 3: Send Your Estimate for Remote Web Approval
Open Client Mode #
From the saved job, tap the arrow icon in the top-right toolbar on the Estimate tab to open the actions menu. Tap Present to Client. The Client Mode prep sheet opens with nav title Present to Client.
โน๏ธ Prerequisite: The job must be saved before entering Client Mode. If the estimate has no line items, the prep sheet shows “No line items yet โ save your estimate first.” Save the estimate and come back.
Configure the presentation #
The prep sheet shows a preview of what the client will see, plus several optional settings. Work through each card from top to bottom:
- Quote Preview โ shows “Prepared for: [client name]” and a snapshot of the estimate. If the snapshot is stale, tap Refresh to rebuild it from the current estimate data
- Optional Add-Ons (Client Selects) โ any add-ons you’ve added in the Estimate tab appear here with toggles the client can use during review. If this section is empty, the note reads: “Add optional items in the Estimate tab โ they’ll appear here for your client to select.” Add-ons let the client build up the scope of the job without you having to offer each one verbally
- Client Note (Optional) โ a message the client sees at the top of the quote. Good for validity periods or scope clarifications โ for example: “This estimate is valid for 30 days.”
- Terms (Optional) โ your terms and conditions shown at the bottom of the quote before the client approves. For example: “50% deposit required to begin work.”
- Set Expiry Date โ toggle on to set a date the quote expires. Defaults to 30 days from today. The client sees “Valid until [date]” on the quote
- Tax Rate โ enter a tax rate percentage if sales tax applies to this job and wasn’t already set on the estimate. The field placeholder shows “0.00%”
Hand the phone to the client #
When the presentation is ready, tap Hand to Client โ. Client Mode launches in full-screen. The navigation back button is hidden โ the client can’t tap out of the presentation into your app. Your estimates, settings, and financial data are not accessible.
The client sees a clean, branded quote with your business name and logo, the line items, any notes and terms, and โ if add-ons are set up โ an Optional Add-Ons section where they can toggle items on or off. Each toggle updates the total in real time so they can see the cost of each option before deciding.
At the bottom of the quote, two buttons: Approve This Quote and Decline.
Session lock โ getting your phone back #
If you need to exit Client Mode before the client makes a decision โ they want more time, or you need to adjust something โ tap and hold the small person icon in the corner of the screen. A circular progress ring appears while you hold. Hold for 5 seconds until the ring completes and Client Mode exits. The icon is subtle by design โ it won’t distract the client during review.
โ Next step
When the client taps Approve This Quote, the signature and deposit flow begins.
