Vertical: Graphic Design · Nav: Design Tools · Tabs: 6
Design Tools is a six-tab suite covering every pricing scenario in graphic design work — from scoping a full brand identity system to pricing print production, licensing, revisions, and file output. Each tab produces a result you can apply directly to your estimate.
Tab 1 — Brand Identity Builder #
Scopes a brand identity project component by component. In Your Rate, enter your hourly rate. In Brand Identity Components, toggle on each deliverable included in the package and set its complexity — Simple, Standard, or Premium. Available components: Primary Logo, Secondary Logo / Lockup, Brandmark / Icon, Color System, Typography Guide, Business Card, Letterhead, Envelope, Email Signature Template, Social Media Profile Kit, Social Media Post Templates, Brand Guidelines Document, and Presentation Template. Each combination of component and complexity has its own hour estimate built in — the hours display next to each toggle as you make selections.
In Discovery & Research, enter hours for initial discovery and competitor / brand audit if those are part of the engagement. The Summary shows total hours and floor price. Tap Apply to Creative Work.
Tab 2 — Batch Pricer #
Prices volume design work — social post sets, banner ad batches, presentation slides, and similar repeating deliverables. In Deliverable Type, pick the type: Social Media Post (Static), Social Story / Reel Cover, Banner Ad (Web), Presentation Slide, Email Header / Footer, Infographic, Flyer, or Custom. Set complexity in Complexity & Hours per Unit. In Volume & Variations, set quantity, size variations (for multi-format work), and output format count — each multiplies the hours. In Rate & Fees, enter your hourly rate and optionally toggle on a flat Setup Fee. The Summary shows total hours and project price. Tap Apply to Creative Work.
Tab 3 — Print Production #
Tracks vendor print costs and calculates your billable total with markup. For each print item, pick the piece type — Business Cards, Flyers, Brochures, Postcards, Booklets / Catalogs, Banners, Posters, Signage (Rigid), Stickers / Labels, Packaging, or Custom — and set the quantity, vendor cost, and your markup percentage. Vendor cost is tracked internally and never shown to the client. Totals shows vendor cost, your markup, and the client-billable total. Tap Apply to Print Production.
Tab 4 — Usage & Licensing #
Calculates the licensing fee for commercial use of your design work. In Usage Medium, select all media where the work will be used — Digital (Social Media, Website, App, Email), Print (Collateral, Publication, Outdoor / OOH, Product Packaging), Broadcast (TV, Streaming), and Merchandise. In License Terms, set the duration (One-Time Use, 6 Months, 1 Year, 3 Years, 5 Years, or Perpetual), exclusivity (Non-Exclusive, Category-Exclusive, or Fully Exclusive), and geographic scope (Local, Regional, National, or Global). In Output Mode, choose whether the license fee is calculated as a Flat Fee or as a % of Creative Total. The Suggested Range and Your License Fee sections show the result to apply.
Tab 5 — Revision Budget #
Calculates the revision cost to include in your project price and sets the overage rate for rounds beyond scope. In Roles Involved in Revisions, enter each role’s hourly rate and hours per round. In Round Structure, set the number of included rounds and additional rounds. The Budget Summary shows the total revision budget to roll into your project price and confirms the overage rate: “Overage rate for additional rounds: $X / round” — the pre-agreed per-round rate to put in your contract.
Tab 6 — File Prep & Output #
Prices the file preparation and output stage of a project. In File Prep Rate, enter your hourly rate. In Scope, set the number of deliverables, output formats, and complexity level. In Additional Tasks, toggle on any extra work included: Source file packaging (organizing layered files for client handoff), Font license check (verifying licensing on all typefaces used), and Color separation / preflight (preparing files for print production). The Summary shows total prep time and cost. Tap Apply to File Prep.
