Vertical: Pressure Washing · Nav: Building Wash · Entry: SmartScope → PW Tools
The Building / House Wash Calculator derives total wall area from perimeter, story count, and floor height — then prices the job based on surface type and chemical application intensity. It handles both residential and commercial buildings.
Open it #
From inside a Pressure Washing estimate, tap the SmartScope button to open SmartScope — PW. Tap Building / House Wash. The subtitle describes the core formula: “Perimeter × stories × height = total wall area.”
Set the building type and surface #
In Building, pick the building type — Residential or Commercial — and the surface material: Vinyl Siding, Brick, Stucco, or Wood / Cedar. The surface drives the default production rate and chemical usage for this wall type.
Enter dimensions #
In Dimensions, enter the building perimeter in linear feet. On Premium, tap the orange map icon to measure the building footprint perimeter from satellite — the result drops straight into the field. Set the number of stories with the Stories: N stepper (1–10). The floor height field pre-fills with the building type’s default (shown as “Default: N ft”) — override it if the ceilings are non-standard. Total wall area calculates automatically from perimeter × stories × floor height.
Set difficulty and costs #
In Difficulty & Your Costs, set the difficulty level for the job and the chemical application intensity: Low, Average, or Heavy. The footer explains: “Difficulty multiplies both labor hours and chemical usage.” Confirm your production rate in sq ft per hour, chemical cost per gallon, and tap Set Default to save the production rate for this surface type. Set crew size and toggle Owner / Operator if applicable.
Review and insert #
Job Scope confirms the dimension math — the Stories row shows “N × N ft floors” so you can verify the wall area calculation at a glance. What This Job Costs You breaks out labor and chemical costs. Charge Preview shows the estimated client price at your markup. Tap Insert into Estimate to add the line item at cost.
