- Part 4: Manage Field Commission and Digital Business Card Settings
When a field user finishes an estimate on site, they export a .prfield file and send it to you. You import it and it becomes a full job in PriceRight Pro β ready to invoice, assign commission, and manage. This article covers the three ways the file can arrive and how to import it.
Three ways a field estimate arrives #
AirDrop #
The field user sends the .prfield file directly to your iPhone via AirDrop. Accept the transfer β the file opens automatically in PriceRight Pro and the import sheet appears.
iMessage or email #
The field user sends the .prfield file as an attachment. Tap the attachment in Messages or Mail and choose Open in PriceRight Pro. The import sheet opens automatically.
Manual import from Files #
If the file has been saved to Files, iCloud Drive, or Dropbox, open PriceRight Pro, go to Field Users, and tap Import Estimate (.prfield) near the top of the screen. A file picker opens β navigate to the .prfield file and select it.
The import sheet #
However the file arrives, the Import Estimate sheet opens. While the file loads you’ll see “Reading estimate file⦔ A preview card shows what’s in the file:
- From β the field user label (the name you gave them when you created their code)
- Job β the job name the field user entered, or “Untitled” if none was set
- Client β the client name, shown when one was recorded
- Exported β the date and time the field user exported the file
If the file can’t be read, the sheet shows “Import Failed.” Check that the file is a valid .prfield export and try again.
Import the estimate #
Tap Import Job to create the job in PriceRight Pro. The estimate, client information, site notes, and photos from the field all come across. The job appears in your job list immediately.
If the same file has already been imported, the sheet shows: “This estimate has already been imported.” You can tap View Existing Job to open it, or Import Job again if you want a second copy.
What the imported job contains #
Once imported, the job behaves like any other job in PriceRight Pro. The estimate tab shows the line items the field user built. Because the job came from a field estimate, two additional sections appear in the job detail view:
- Field Commission β assign a commission rate to the field user who built this estimate. See Part 4 for the full commission workflow
- Field Photos β before and after site photos the field user captured on site. See Part 3 for how to view them
β Next step
Review the site photos and field notes your team sent with the estimate.
