Who this is for: Managers | Plan: Premium | Series: Client Mode โ Part 2 of 3
๐ Client Mode Series
- Part 1: Present Your Estimate in Client Mode
- Part 2: Collect a Signature and Take a Deposit โ You are here
- Part 3: Send Your Estimate for Remote Web Approval
The client approves #
When the client taps Approve This Quote on the Client Mode presentation, the signature screen opens automatically. The navigation title changes to Sign to Approve.
The screen shows the message “By signing below, you approve this quote.” followed by the signature canvas. The client draws their signature with their finger โ a Sign here placeholder marks the signing area. If they make a mistake, the Clear button resets the canvas for another attempt.
When the signature is complete, the client taps Confirm Approval. The approval is recorded with the signature, the timestamp, and any add-ons they selected during review.
What happens on approval #
Confirming the approval triggers the full approval chain automatically:
- The job status updates to Invoiced
- An invoice is created directly from the approved estimate โ no manual invoice creation needed
- Any add-ons the client selected are added to the invoice as line items
- The signed contract record is saved to the job
The result screen appears with nav title Quote Result. It shows four sections: the approval status, the captured signature, the add-ons the client selected (if any), and an Invoice section confirming “Invoice created from approved quote.” The Signed Contract section has two buttons: View PDF to preview the signed contract, and Share / Export to send it by email or save it to Files.
Collecting the deposit #
The deposit is collected from the invoice that was just created. Open the invoice from the job’s Invoices tab and send it to the client via Stripe. The client pays their deposit amount by card and you receive it in your Stripe account. See Connect Stripe and Send Your First Invoice for the full invoicing flow.
If the client declines #
If the client taps Decline instead of approving, the decline screen opens with nav title Decline Quote. An optional field โ “Any feedback for the contractor?” โ lets them leave a note. Tapping Confirm Decline (a destructive action) records the decline and returns to the declined result screen.
The client sees: “Quote Declined” and “We’ll follow up with you shortly.” They tap Return to [your business name] and Client Mode closes. The job stays in your pipeline โ go to the prospect card, note the outcome, and decide your next step: adjust the price, follow up in a few days, or move on.
โ Job booked.
The signature is captured, the invoice is created, and the job is ready for deposit collection and scheduling. If you need to present remotely instead of in person, see Part 3.
