Who this is for: Managers
đŧ Why this matters
Most contractors work across more than one trade. A general contractor who does occasional roofing, a landscaper who handles concrete work, a pressure washer who takes on junk removal â the vertical you’re set up as covers your primary trade, but the job in front of you isn’t always your primary trade. Add-On Calculator Packs put specialty calculators for other trades into any estimate, without switching your vertical or rebuilding your setup.
Add-On Calculator Packs are specialty trade calculators that work from any job, regardless of which vertical you’re configured as. Enable the packs for the trades you work in, and they’re available from the action menu inside any estimate.
How Add-On Packs differ from SmartScope vertical tools #
SmartScope calculators are built into the estimate view for your active vertical â they appear automatically when you’re working in that trade. Add-On Packs are different: they’re cross-vertical. A Roofing pack works from a General Contractor job, a Pressure Washing job, or any other vertical. They’re available on demand from the estimate action menu, not pre-loaded automatically.
Each pack contains three calculators targeting the most common scoping tasks in that trade. The output is identical to SmartScope: tap Add to Estimate and the result inserts directly into your estimate as a line item â no re-entry, no transfer.
Step 1 â Open Add-On Calculators from any estimate [Standard] #
With a job open, tap the â action menu icon in the top-right corner of the estimate screen and select Add-On Calculators. The panel opens with the navigation title Add-On Calculators.
Step 2 â Enable your packs #
The first time you open the panel, it shows an empty state with a Browse Add-On Packs button. Tap it to open the pack browser, where you can enable any of the available packs. Once packs are enabled, tap Manage (top-right of the panel) at any time to add or remove packs from your list.
Only packs you’ve enabled appear in the panel. Enable only the trades you actually work in to keep the list focused.
âšī¸ Note: Add-On Packs require a Standard subscription. The panel is accessible on the Free tier but pack calculators are locked until you upgrade.
Step 3 â Run a calculator and apply the result #
Your enabled packs appear as sections in the panel, each labeled with the pack name. Within each pack section, tap any calculator row to open it. Enter your measurements or inputs, then tap Add to Estimate. The result inserts directly into your estimate â material results go into your materials list, labor results go into your labor phases. The calculator closes and you’re back in the estimate with the scoped line item included in your total.

đĄ Tip â Roofing pack: Run the Shingle Quantity calculator first. When you tap Add to Estimate, the square count carries over and pre-fills the Labor Phase Builder for that same job â so you don’t have to enter the square count twice.
đ Smart Business Tip
Enable the packs for the trades you get asked about most â even if they’re not your primary vertical. A landscaper who picks up concrete work a few times a year can scope it accurately in two minutes with the Concrete pack instead of doing the math in their head. Accurate cross-trade scoping is how you stop underquoting work that’s adjacent to your main trade.
